Civil engineers have created a futuristic bridge in Asia too. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge stretches over 50km and is the longest sea-crossing bridge ever built. An intricate, interconnected system of artificial islands, bridges, and tunnels will connect Hong Kong and Zhuhai to Macau. Optimum quality and sustainability features promise minimal maintenance work for at least 120 years.[5]

The innovative design saved thousands of tons of steel and relied on environment-friendly materials instead. It opened to traffic in 2015. For maintenance too, it relies on renewable energy sources. The amazing engineering feat makes it wind resistant.[6]

This will, in turn, provide more daylight for people nearby and the pedestrians.[7]
